Sunday Line-up:
The Stranglers Unplugged – Over 40 Top 10 singles. This is their first un-plugged Festival Appearance that is sur to get the feet tapping. Classic Favourites like Go Buddy Go, Peaches, No More Heros, Golden Brown, Strange Little Girl, Walk on By, European Female, Alwats The Sun, Something better Change, Skin Deep.
Hayseed Dixie – Bluegrass Hillbillies. After coming to prominence on Jools Holland and taking the UK by storm with their hillbilly bluegrass fingerpicking ACDC numbers, the American musos are a festive must see. Whole Lotta Love, Duelling Banjos
Glen Tilbrook – Squeeze Solo Set. The former Squeeze man has set the pace in the solo acoustic live set. All his gigs are sought after by all punters chompin at the bit for tickets. Tempted, Cool for Cats, Takin Mussels from a Shell are some of his hits.
Chumbwamba – Full Band Acoustic. Surely one of the most theatrical live bands. After years of gracing most British Festivals they found themselves on top of the charts with Tubthumpin (I lay down Then I Get Up Again), an anthem that swamped the country several years ago. A 5 piece Acoustic line up this afternoon.
Mike Peters – The Alarm – Solo Set from Wales’ best selling Rock/Pop Star. Mike Peters led The Alarm throughout the world to 14 Top 50 singles, six successful albums, packed out venues, critical acclaim, and most importantly, a loyal following. The Alarm singer songwriter hit the Top 20 again last year, under a false name as The Poppy Fields, 24 years after hitting us with 68 Guns & Blaze of Glory. A massive back catalogue and huge fan base developed over the years culminates in The Gathering at Rhyl every year, where fans take over the whole town for a 3 day homage to the creativity from one of the nicest men in music.
The Animals & Friends – Unleashed & Unplugged. A mid afternoon flurry of their classics including House of the Rising Sun, Don’t Let Me Be Missunderstood, We’ve gotta Get Out of This Place, Don’t Bring Me Down, It’s My Life.
Nearly Dan – 10 piece Tribute Band to Steely Dan. Huge following locally witness the musical genius of Donald Fagan and Walter Becker through songs Reelin In the Years, Ricky Don’t Lose that Number, Do it Agaain
Wakin The Witch – 4 piece All Girl Band. 4 girl singer songwriters who got together and hatched this formidable group of urban folk-blues that sits nicely on Radio 2 listeners’ ears, fresh from the day before at the Cambridge Festival.
The Blues Band – Paul Jones’ Full Band Acoustic Lunch Time Set. Paul Jones, Tom McGuinness, Dave Kelly & gang lay down a classical best repertoir of blues on Sunday lunchtime for us. From Robert Johnson to Ray Charles and John Lee Hooker.
The Cheshire Chord Company – At least 50 of these award winning ladies will grace our stage this Sunday lunchtime. Songs from Rock and Pop archives including The Kaiser Chiefs I Predict a Riot, and classics such as Its raining Men, Hooked on a Feeling. The Warrington based choir were European Champions 2003. Get in early for this spectacular
