Pete Evans writes in with some mouthwatering details…..

I spoke to Otis Taylor last night and he has given me further details regarding his backing band for his forthcoming tour which starts next Saturday.
On guitar is Jonn Richardson “A killer guitarist – wait till you hear him” said Otis and who is the current holder of the Albert King Award for the USA’s best unsigned guitarist. He has been working recently with Pinetop Perkins, Willie “Big Eyes” Smith and Bob Margolin.

On drums is Josh Kelly who has been working with Roger McGuinn, Al Kooper, Mick Taylor and Steve Miller and is currently drummer for Bruce Willis! Using a drummer on this tour, Otis is creating the rhythmic Fat Possum, North Mississippi style of music.
Jonn Richardson is missing the opening two dates at Exeter and Bristol Blues Festival and so Otis has asked Tommy Allen to be his guest guitarist. Tommy needless to say is thrilled to bits especially as the last UK guitarist to play with Otis was Gary Moore when he guested on Otis’ recent album which may be ready in time for the tour.

Tommy is also doing a solo acoustic support slot at the Trowbridge gig on the 20th and Matt Schofield is supporting on the 18th in London.
Finally, remember everyone that the only gig in the north and Wales is at Worthenbury on Saturday 21st October and two thirds of the tickets have already been sold so if you want one you’ll have to be quick. Ring me on 01948 770215 or mail me at
