Jo’ Buddy

It looks like 2007 is going to continue one of the key themes of 2006 – how much better the blues scene is in Scandinavia than pretty much anywhere else. Well, here’s another name for your records – Jo’ Buddy. It looks and sounds like the CD (of which there are multiple samples on the website) was recorded using an old valve radio (that’s a tube radio to our US cousins).

His website states…

Jo’ Buddy has a very individual & personal style! His laidback music spreads joy of life, being simultaneously timeless, earthy & spiritual. It´s a raw, rootsy & wide open mixture of Ragtime, Down Home Blues, Old Spirituals, Boogie Woogie, Early Jazz, Western Swing, Country, Zydeco, Swamp Boogie, New Orleans Rhythm & Blues, Soul, Rock´n`Roll, Rockabilly, Garage Rock, Heartfelt Ballads…and even echoes from Western-African Rhythms & Spanish Flamenco!
