Brenda writes in with a brief review of the Silk Traders gig at the Zanzibar, Liverpool on 24 March 2007.

I checked out The Silk Traders gig at the Zanzibar, Liverpool, March 24th.

They played with energy and vitality, ripping through their set and bringing the crowd to its feet.

Their blues based material had some older musos rubbing their eyes in disbelief, delighted that the youngsters were into the same music they liked at their age. I heard stunned expressions of ‘they sound like Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac’ and illusions to Rory Gallagher. They were immediately booked for another gig at the Zanzibar May 11th but the blues fan in me would like to see them at a blues venue sometime. I notice on their myspace page they have linked up in mutual admiration with The Stumble, which can only be a good thing. As Ken said , ‘it’s good to support youngsters as without young blood the music could be dead in a generation.’
