Blues in the movies – Black Snake Moan

The first blues in the cinema since Albert Collins was in Adventures in Babysitting?

The bluesy film Black Snake Moan did not do very well in the US. I don’t know too much about the film but check it out for yourself, it looks interesting.

The main opinion on the BLues-L mailing list was that the film was OK but not outstanding. Anything trashy with blues is OK by me.

Read somewhere that Big Jack Johnson learnt Samuel L. Jackson some guitar licks and was amazed how quick he picked it up – think it was “Catfish Blues” – don’t think he actually plays in the movie though!
