Streaming Blues 24/7

A new Internet radio station has been launched – A World of

The station streams blues 24 hours a day, seven days a week in acceptable 64K bandwidth quality. The major difference is that this station will eventually move to live DJs rather than some of the alternatives out there that are automated using a large music library and a computer selecting the tunes.

It’s never going to be a serious competitor for traditional radio programming like The Paul Jones show on BBC Radio 2 or concentrated Podcasts like Raven ‘n’ Blues, however it is another source of great music.

The station streams in .PLS format so you may need to install a Media Player to hear the music as Windows Media Player does not support the format. I use Media Player Classic that comes bundled with Real Alternative. Not only does this combination allow me to listen to A World Of Blues but will also play Real Media streams without me having to install the hated Real Player software. I love Real Alternative.
