Here’s The Oilman playing some real blues. It’s not strictly a YouTube but it’s damn fine, I’d have loved to have been there but it does look a little hot and sticky for a big northern white Englishman.

This comes from the excellent “Deep Blues” film made by the late Robert Palmer (not the also late, sadly missed Batley-born singer) and Sunderland’s own Dave Stewart. It contains some cracking footage of the likes of RL Burnside, Junior Kimbrough and ‘Booba’ Barnes, as well as more Big Jack Johnson - highly recommended if you can track it down. I have it on video, but think it did come out on DVD.
