News fron Nugene

I was thinking about the upcoming Ian Siegal gig at Warrington on 23 Nov at the time that the newsletter arrived from Nugene records. The newsletter (below and edited for northwest interest) features some good news on three northwest favourites….

The IAN SIEGAL BAND session for the BBC is scheduled to air on Monday, 12th November. Hear it live at 7pm (GMT) or listen again online for up to a week.

BBC Radio 2: 88.1-91.7FM

You can also hear Ian (in solo mode and interviewed) on Dave Raven’s BFBS show (British Forces Broadcasting Service).

MATT SCHOFIELD has had a lot of press recently. If you’re in the States or Canada you may have seen the interview feature in VINTAGE GUITAR (December issue).

In the UK, GUITAR TECHNIQUES (Nov issue) has an extensive tutorial on “playing like Matt Schofield” with tab and tracks on the accompanying cover CD.

And if you’re in Germany, the new magazine ROCKS (debut issue out now) has a three page feature on Matt and the Trio.

Back on November 2nd The Trio did a live broadcast from the Hilversum studios of the Dutch broadcast company, NPS. If you go to you might be able to figure out how to do a ‘listen again’ (we haven’t, but being able to read Dutch would help!).

And finally, JOHNNY MASTRO & MAMAS BOYS will be back in Europe in May.

Great news about Johnny Mastro coming back – let’s hope ‘Europe’ includes ‘England’ – loved him and the band at Warrington!
