Local lap slide guitarist, Tom Doughty is hosting and providing this third in a series of Northwich concerts featuring International standard Blues and Roots artists, this time at The Harlequins Theatre in Queen Street Northwich, on Saturday 22nd March at 8.00pm start. (doors 7.30)

Tom, no stranger himself to playing music as far afield as New York and Calcutta is hosting this event following the success of previous evenings in Northwich. Tickets £7.00/6.00 from Tom on 01606 891988 or DAN Office 01606 41597.

Jim Crawford is something of a blues enigma. Originally from Lancashire he now resides in Appledore on the North Devon coast.

A shy and retiring man who readily admits that recording studios fill him with dread and that he’d rather go fishing with his dog for company, has, none the less, toured much of Europe and the U.S.A captivating audiences with his intimate blues style.

Softly spoken, Jim totally surprises his audience when he breaks into a number with a resonant, barrelhouse blues vocal and for years has been revered among professional musicians as a consummate finger picker and slide guitarist.

Tom Doughty is one of the most original new artists I have heard in a long time. With his unique approach to guitar and his vocal interpretations of traditional and his original tunes, he has managed to create music that is all his own. ‘Woody Mann’

“Tom Doughty is possessed of a deep musical soul, that magic link between feeling and movement which makes the slide guitar such an individual instrument. His touch is wide ranging, and his music is full of big feeling. In a world of derivative and imitative slide guitarists, Tom’s sound is unique and special.”
