US Funky Blues Saxophonist Extraordinaire On UK Tour

Texan Eddie ‘Blue’ Lester, a veteran of the music scene in the US, is touring the UK for the first time between 21st March and 13th April and plays 20th Burnley Blues Festival on 23rd March and continues with club dates and a Warners Weekend date at Bodelwyddan Castle, North Wales. Eddie Blue & The Ravens are top notch US musicians and are the real deal from the US  playing funky  rhythm ‘n’ blues. His band, The Ravens, are put together from a dream wish list of US musicians and feature Ronnie ‘Coach’ Parker bass, Alex Mays guitar, John ‘Fingers’ Ford on keyboards and Fuego Fernandez, drums.

Eddie learned to play saxophone at an early age and it wasn’t long before he was on the road in and around the south on the Chittlins circuit playing in the Jimmy Church Revue with Jimi Hendrix and bass player Billy Cox who later was in the Band of Gypsies. Jimmy Hendrix was in the in the Jimmy Church Revue, just before he moved to find his fame and fortune in England. Eddie says “Jimi was actually quite a loner, spent most of his time with his guitar.

Eddie “Blue” Lester, is known in the US as vocalist and saxophonist extraordinaire and puts on a show only the original US guys can do. He has shared the stage with many big US blues names including Jimi Hendrix, James Armstrong, Tab Benoit, Big Jack Johnson, Magic Slim, Carl Weathersby and many more.

This band will “amaze and entertain you” and Eddie says “I hope to bring some of that American blues bar feel to the UK. Don’t miss this rare chance to see this funky soulful blues band – Eddie Blue and The Ravens.
