Harry Skinner and Dave Saunders
at Fogherty’s Function Room, Liverpool
Thursday 15th May 2008 (open at 8pm/show starts at 8.45pm)
For many years, Harry Skinner and Dave Saunders were members of one of the UK’s best and most popular blues bands, The Producers. Harry was the band’s singer and guitarist and Dave its bass guitarist. In addition to playing in the band, Harry and Dave pursued a separate life as an acoustic blues duo, which, thankfully, they have continued to do since the sad demise of the band.
Harry Skinner has one of the finest blues voices in the country, which is rich in tone but with an attractively roughened edge. He is also a brilliant guitarist. Dave Saunders plays acoustic guitar and occasionally acoustic bass guitar to provide the ideal foundation for Harry’s virtuosity. They play a beautifully balanced mixture of familiar covers and excellent original material sprinkled with relaxed and humorous narrative. In short, they deliver a programme that never fails to delight.
Fogherty’s Function Room is situated at 1, Blenheim Road, Liverpool, L18 3EH (0151 734 3906).
Tickets for the concert (£10 each) are obtainable from John Welsh on 0151 428 2855 or email: email@example.com. Please visit http://www.bluesinthenorthwest.com for a fund of information on the region’s excellent blues scene.
