at Liverpool Marina
Thursday, 22nd January 2009
(Doors open: 8pm/show starts 8.45pm)
Kent DuChaine is a troubadour of the highest quality, preserving the itinerant lifestyle of his idols. Playing bottleneck on his 1934 National Steel guitar, the Minnesota bluesman has a startling mastery of that intricate art form. In performance, he weaves a fascinating story of his musical development, liberally sprinkled with anecdotes of his meeting and performing with some of the legends of the US blues scene.
His choice of songs underline his love and respect for his musical heritage. The music of Bukka White, Willie Dixon and Elmore James are intermingled with classical compositions by his spiritual mentor, Robert Johnson, and a generous helping of self-penned material.
Kent’s energetic performances are always highly entertaining and delivered in a friendly, laid-back manner. His increasingly frequent tours are testimony to his popularity among the blues enthusiasts in the UK.
Liverpool Marina is situated at Coburg Wharf, Sefton Street, Liverpool L3BP.
Tickets for the concert (£10 adv. £12 door) are obtainable from John Welsh on 0151 428 2855 or by email to email@example.com
