On the 8.30 slot when he goes back to the south, I read somewhere that he jammed with Cedric Burnside and Lightnin’ Malcolm in Clarksdale – might be worth checking. The 11pm film will be worth watching too as this old fellah Bussard looking for rare 78s is a legend.
I still cringe though as before Seasick Steve appeared on Jools Holland, I’d made a prelim contact with his agency for a gig in Worhenbury … the one that got away!!!

Wonder how much the fee went up after Jools? That would have been a great one for you Pete. The return to Mississippi is actually at 8 pm, followed by the Leeds and Reading Festival stuff at 8.30 pm – the whole night looks pretty tasty!

Hi Pete – Good tip about the “Desperate Man Blues” film with Joe Bussard, was going to give it a miss but glad I watched it – fascinating stuff! The geezer is a bit eccentric to say the least, but what passion for the old music! How good did that 78 of “Crossroads Blues” sound – a hairs on the back of the neck moment at 11.45 pm on a Friday night on the telly!
