Warrington Blues Club, at Warrington Town FC, Loushers Lane, Warrington, WA4 2RS – Friday, 27th February

Two of the North West’s finest blues bands, who are out and about gigging again after varying periods of inactivity, combine for what should be a sparkling ‘double-header’ at Warrington Blues Club, on Friday, 27th February.

Down At Antone’s, once session guests on the Paul Jones Radio 2 blues show, are fronted by Neil Partington on vocals and guitar, with Ken Peace on the big-toned harmonica – the rest of the band being Glen Lewis (keyboards), Steve Brown (bass) and Nick Lauro (drums) – expect some fine blues, but also some jazz and funk grooves.

Manchester’s finest, The Harpbreakers, led as ever by Nigel Dunne on vocals and harmonica, still feature the sparkling guitar of Tony Roach, and the rhythm section of Andy Sykes (bass) and Big Vern (drums) – and together they deliver a mix of Chicago blues, with some West Coast swing and more!

The band will each deliver their own set, with hopefully time at the end for a few songs together – it promises to be a most memorable evening!

Doors open 8pm, for an approximate 9 pm start, admission £10 on the doors. More information from Ray or Barbara O’Hare on 01925 636450.
