Gig: Lyndon Anderson – Grand Theatre, Blackpool – 22 May 2009

Having seen Lyndon and the band recently in Burtonwood I can wholeheartedly recommend this featured gig.
Get ready for an exceptional evening of scorching jazz blues and fabulous funk with The Lyndon Anderson Band at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre on Friday 22nd May for Studio Blues 2009.
When it comes to the blues, the Lyndon Anderson Band has all the bases covered. Whether it’s a 1950s Chess classic, a chunk of 70s funk, a rocking Texas shuffle, jazz influenced West Coast swing or one of their many originals, they play it all with style, authority and taste. From Lightning Hopkins to The Meters and beyond, they mix up a red hot gumbo of groove with tunes from the likes of Muddy Waters, James Brown, Junior Walker and the Fabulous Thunderbirds.
The Lyndon Anderson Band has performed at some of the most prestigious music festivals including Edinburgh Jazz Festival, The Great British Jazz Festival and Stanley Blues Festival; performing to an audience over 15,000 as well as in countless bars and clubs.
With the release of their second album, which followed the hugely popular 2005 release Take My Order which received national and international airplay and critical acclaim, they are also featured in an upcoming TV documentary on the blues.
The Lyndon Anderson Band is made up of Lyndon Anderson’s dynamite harp, soulful vocals and boogaloo guitar; master skinsman Jeff Hodgeson; gifted guitarist Davey Dormand and the solid bass playing of Christine Wilson.
