Cycling pics – thanks for the sponsorship

Posted on: Wednesday, Sep 16, 2009

Thanks to all the people who sponsored me for the recent Manchester 100 cycle ride.  The temptation of getting a fat bloke in lycra was just too much for everyone.  All in all over £6,500 was raised for charity with my company Thermo Fisher matching some of the total with a further $5,000.

All in all 20 of us did the ride; some did the 100 miles and the less hardy (myself included) did the 100km (still over 60 miles).  My time was 5hrs 22min.

I promised that I’d post pictures to the site to feel the full embarassment and to fulfil the sponsorship conditions of some of the better negotiators out there.

So that’s it.  Photos to come below.  It’s not too late the donate a little cash – I’ll paste the donation site below.  Don’t be put off by some of the large amounts, some of the company partners and agents were included and have done us proud. Please give what you can.

Good to see you lost a little weight beforehand (that is you second from the left in the first photograph isn’t it?)
Nice of that bloke in the second pic to try and catch you up with some toast you left behind.
Even better to see in pic three that groovy but aging Scots pop band the BMX Bandits are back on the road.
Well done Ken, the orange juices are on me at Telfords.

Well done, Ken. Very brave – being photographed in that garb, that is!
