True Blues Club - Newton le Willows

True Blues

Earlestown Conservative Club

17/19, Earle St, Newton le Willows

WA12 9LW

Two blues lovers Graham Woodhouse and Steve O’Donnell in Newton le Willows have started a brand new blues club.  Grahame writes…..

My colleague Steve and I love to see “Live Blues” and have travelled to various venues in the North West (work loads permitting) where we have seen, in our opinion, some brilliant, some good and some not so good live bands and artists (each to their own taste)!

We have spent many alcohol fueled evenings discussing what the future might hold and from these late night debates the idea to form the “True Blues Club” was born. Whereby, if due to our differing work commitments we couldn’t get to see the “Blues”, then we would bring the “Blues” to us!

To this end, the Committee at Earlestown Conservative Club have very kindly given us the use of their Function Room.

With the help of our Light & Sound maestro Paul, who has installed a PA & Lighting system which is second to none, we are now almost ready to go.

As we are non-profit making and are making this investment in equipment etc. from our own pockets, we need to ensure as many people attend as possible so the ticket sales cover the cost of the bands.

Our opening night is on Saturday 28th November when our Resident Band, Crossfire Blues Band, will be supporting the “Cliff Stocker & the Legendary Slack Alice”.

Live music will begin at 8.00pm on all gigs and ticket price will be £10.

We will be holding one gig per month next year – see below for the gig list.

It is our intention that the “True Blues Club” will become one of the premier “Live Blues” venues in the North West.

Good luck with the club guys. If you can find a way to promote blues and be anything other than non-profit making, please let me know
