Still reckon Roscoe’s original’s the greatest. Apparently, a huge record on the Jamaican sound systems in the 50’s. Is this where ska started?

Have to agree Steve, Rosco’s original the best! Always had a soft spot for him since seeing that brilliant “Road To Memphis” film, where, after 20 years working in a laundry business in NYC, he returned to Memphis and played that homecoming show with BB King, Ike Turner and Little Milton (jeez, only BB left!), then returned home and died six weeks later . . . very sad! Managed to see him at Colne in one of Otis Grand’s all-star gigs. Never thought about the ska connection, but agree, it’s definitely got that feel!
