WILKO JOHNSON LIVE @ THE CITADEL ON SATURDAY 15th  MAY 2010

On Saturday 15th May, the Citadel welcomes back original Dr Feelgood guitarist Wilko Johnson with his band for a night of pub rock foot stomping blues at its best.

Wilko is the godfather of punk and co-founder of Dr Feelgood who stormed out of Canvey Island in the 70s with a unique brand of stripped-down r’n’b, high-energy stage shows and four classic albums. He is joined on stage by bass legend Norman Watt-Roy (The Blockheads) and Dylan Howe (son of “Yes” member Steve Howe). The set will feature all the classics from the Dr Feelgood back catalogue such as “Roxette” and “Back in the night.”

Expect the music loud and the floor rocking as these experienced musicians will make you feel like your in the 70’s at a “Feelgood” gig. The band do not tour as often as they used to so this is a rare opportunity to see them at their top of their game in St Helens.

Wilko Johnson will be performing at the Citadel on Saturday 15th May. Tickets are £12/£10.
