Here is the update from Graham Woodhouse

Fran - The Elevators

Review – Saturday 17th July

CROSSFIRE, minus Dave who for some reason wouldn’t fly back from his holidays for the night, once again opened the evening’s entertainment at 8.00pm. They gave the audience a treat as Brian put a new twist on lead guitar in Dave’s absence. Their 70 minute set included many tracks from their CD plus a number of fantastic covers, including a slower than their usual version of Hoochie Coochie Man!

The Elevators then took to the stage…..

….. you know that feeling you get, when the hairs on the back of your neck start to rise or nothing else in the world matters, we had an entire audience who were just mesmerised by what they were seeing and hearing (Steve & I included)!

Their first set was full of warm caressing “Slow Blues” which had everyone on the edge of their seats

  • T Bone Boogie
  • Same Way
  • Hard Road
  • Nobody’s Fault
  • Bright Lights (Slow Blues)
  • Nobody Wants To Know You
  • Reconsider Baby
  • You Know My Love
  • Worried Down (Slow Blues)

Their second set became a little more up tempo they literally had people in the palms of their hands!

  • Hideaway
  • Do It
  • Milk Calf
  • Spoonful
  • All My Loving
  • 3 o’clock Blues
  • No Way Out
  • Further On Up The Road
  • Very Thing

After the third encore I was trying to doing the closing thanks etc but gave up as the audience were still shouting for more! Two more numbers followed and it was all over.

The Elevators will be back at the True Blues Club next year!

Steve & myself would like to thank them for the wonderful comment we received by e mail.

“The Elevators played the True Blues Club on a hot July night.  Great opening act Crossfire put the audience in the mood for a couple of hours of the best blues they could wring from their fingers.  in return the punters showed both their appreciation and enjoyment.  If you need the feel of a real Blues lounge and want to enjoy brilliant music, great food and a fantastic audience get yourself to the True Blues club”.

Highly recommended – The Elevators.
