Hans Theessink
at Garston Royal British Legion
Friday, 17th September 2010
(doors open at 8pm, show starts at 8.45pm)

Hans Theessink is a Dutch bluesman based in Vienna. Renowned worldwide for his exceptional guitar playing, his sonorous voice and his warm stage presence, he has graced stages throughout Europe. He has also performed at many of the most prominent North American music festivals, including the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and the Chicago Blues Festival.

In 2004, Hans received the Austrian Amadeus Award for “Songs From The Southland”, a tribute to the music of the American South. In the words of the highly respected US blues magazine, Blues Review: “Hans Theessink is an international blues treasure. He is one of the world’s pre-eminent country pickers and his warm baritone expresses blues”.

When he appeared at Liverpool Marina, the Dutch master charmed the very appreciative audience with his warmth, his rich voice and his consummate skills on acoustic guitar. Since then he has also performed at the Rodewald Suite in the Philharmonic Hall. This is another gig not to be missed as Hans is quite simply a class act.
