Gigs from the 2:19 Blues Band
Posted on: Tuesday, Sep 28, 2010
The 2:19 Blues Band are influenced by everything blues, from the crossroads of The Delta, via New Orleans, through the 60s blues boom to Stevie Ray Vaughan and beyond. Featuring growling vocals, soulful lead and screeching slide guitars with basslines to get your feet moving and the occasional howling harmonica the 2:19 Blues Band can get the house rocking or tug at the heartstrings of the most hardened blues aficionado.
Based in the North West they have been taking their music out to the blues clubs and 21st century juke joints of the world. The 2:19 Blues Band can offer a night of music tailored to suit the venue. A standard evening consists of a set of intimate electro-acoustic blues followed by a one of higher octane electric blues.
However when the venue suits they will play the whole evening in one style or the other. They can transport the listener to Mississippi, Chicago, London, Manchester – anywhere the blues has a home.
The 2:19 Blues Band are
- Dan Roberts – Vocals
- Simon Sherratt – Electric & Acoustic Guitars
- Chris Melia – Electric, Acoustic & Slide Guitars
- Danny Doughty – Bass
- Dan Melia – Drums and percussion
There will be two sets, a first of acoustic based blues to take the listener back to the birth of the blues followed by an electric set bringing the listener up to the modern day.
