Connie was voted Blues Personality of 2006 in the Digital Blues Awards and came second in the Favourite Female category. She is officially recognised as one of the finest blues singers the UK has ever produced winning Best UK Female Vocalist by Blues In Britain for 5 years and European Singer of the Year for 2003, 2004 & 2005.
Connie Lush is one of the most stunning & talented Blues vocalists worldwide and will be visiting us in Chester this month.

Connie and her band Blues Shouter will be appearing at Glastonbury next year, we asked her how the band find touring: “We’ve just got back from touring in Southern France, Paris and Luxembourg…sounds glam and it is until you fall out the van after a six hour drive and you have just been on a very bumpy 3 hour ferry and your makeup is down by your knees!  But I wouldn’t change it for the world, well maybe a jet or two!”

Commenting on her forthcoming Glastonbury appearance, Connie said: “We have just been finalising some details with Glastonbury and at least I have a luxury tent!  That’s progress I suppose but where can I put my heated rollers?” Connie continues:   “Playing at Glastonbury is one of my dreams; we are doing two nights and staying for one extra night so some fun will be had in the tents!  Playing Blues at Glastonbury puts the Blues firmly back in the spotlight so I can’t wait to strut my stuff”.

As for Chester, how does Connie and the band find the City as a host? Connie said: “We have been playing in Chester at Alexanders for best part of 15 years.   The big attraction for us about the gig is the staff and the complete love of music that comes through the club which is shown in the artists that have been brought to play there. Last year I got to see Maggie Bell and couldn’t believe that we had her in Alexanders but that’s the kind of place it is, you can see some of your heroes there up close and intimate”. I love those intimate gigs, when the audience is so close to me that I can pinch some of their pizza!”

So what’s new for Connie? “I am off to Austria touring for 10 days so that will put me in the Christmas spirit of things.  Touring for me is like breathing and yes sometimes its gets a bit laboured but I just couldn’t do anything else.  To travel is my big passion besides music, just driving up to the lakes is enough but I am gonna have to be good cos we have a new CD to record……so travel will be put on hold.   We start work on the CD end of the year so will be busy in the studio and expect to finish Feb 2011”. Connie adds: “2011 is looking good with more European work and possible Australia!   Sounds like it will be another exciting year for Connie.
