The next Wyre Blues session at The Marine Hall, Fleetwood takes place on Thursday December 16th and features the young guitar prodigy Alex McKown and his band.

Alex McKown was born in 1996 and first picked up the guitar when he was 6 years old. When he was 8 he got an electric guitar for Christmas Alex quickly progressed and spent many hours playing along to guitar legends such as Eric Clapton and Angus Young.

The Alex McKown band played their first gig in 2008 at THe Moon & Sixpence in Glossop. They went down a storm and the local paper carried the headline “Guitar Prodigy is Star Of The Future” Alex guested with American blues guitarist Hamilton Loomis on his 2009 UK tour. Since then they clocked up an impressive number of gigs on the blues circuit including The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival at Colne, Newark Blues Festival and Ramsbottom Blues festival amongst many others.

Taking inspiration form the likes of Joe Bonamassa,Walter Trout, Samuel C Lees and Matt Schofield you can expect a blistering set of electric blues at its best. The show starts at the earlier time of 8.15pm. Tickets are £2.50 from the box office on 01253 887693.
