Shawn Pittman with The Moeller Brothers
“Triple Troubles”
(Feelin’ Good Records 013)

Do you hanker for the raw, gritty sound of Hound Dog Taylor? Fret over not being able to hear more of the rocking blues of Frankie Lee Sims? Long for the swamp-blues of Lonesome Sundown? Carry a torch for Eddie Taylor? Lust after the lean blues sound of yester-year, just two guitars cranked up above the amp’s limits, a drummer thrashing for his life, ragged but right? Well then, Dallas, Texas-based Shawn Pittman has the cure for your troubles. He enlisted the help of the Moeller Brothers, guitarist Jon and drummer Jason, both lately of The Fabulous Thunderbirds and both Texas blues veterans, for this set which pays homage to the stripped-down, no-nonsense blues of those just mentioned. The sessions that produced this CD were in fact ten years apart, but you won’t spot the join. Now that’s consistency… and well worth a listen.
