BB’s Blues Club kicks off at Alexander’s

BB’s Blues Club, a brand new blues club at Alexander’s kicks off on Thursday 20th January. The club will run fortnightly and feature the best of local, national, and international acts, covering the full spectrum of the blues. The man behind the new blues club is Mike Bowden, who is generally known as ‘the man with the lived in voice’ in blues circles. Mike has worked with Dr Truth and Bowden & Williamson and will be bring his blues expertise and contacts to BB’s Blues Club.

Mike said: “Since people started to hear rumours about BB’s I’ve been inundated with calls from bands wanting to play. We’re starting strongly with Junkhouse Dog Blues Band on our first night, two weeks after on the 3rd February it’s blues legend Kent DuChaine and then we have Fuschi 3 on the 17th February”.

Junkhouse Dog Blues Band are a Manchester based Blues band founded and fronted by ‘British Blues Harmonica Champion 2008/09’ Luke ‘Junkhousedog’ Shaw. Junkhouse Dog mixes steamy shuffles and eclectic swing, with true vintage Chicago style grit.

Fuschi 3 feature Italian Paolo Fuschi, and a super tight rhythmn section. The band plays original music that blurs the lines between blues, rock and funk. They have great guitar and vocals, driven by rock solid bass and drums.

Great news indeed . . . regular blues back at Alexander’s! You only have to climb the stairs to see the hundreds of great people who have played there. Good luck to Mike on his new venture . . . forget crappy television people and get out and see live music.
