“A fleet fingered and talented newcomer
to the British blues scene. His playing
may be ferocious but he rarely sacrifices
precision for it. His phrasing belies his
years. Definitely one to watch.”
“Amazing…I really loved his playing”
“A really good guitar player!”
When you hear comments such as the above from two of the worlds’ greatest guitar players you just know they have heard something very special. Twenty-two year old Ben Poole is currently being described the most exciting young blues guitarist to come out of the UK for a long, long time.
The past couple of years has been an extremely exciting one for Ben, seeing his name crop up regularly in Europe’s biggest selling guitar magazine Total Guitar who recently named Ben as “the guitarist to watch out for in 2010”.
Ben has also realised a lifelong dream to play with one of his favourite living musicians – US guitarist/singer/songwriter Richie Kotzen, touring with him on Richie’s October 2009 UK tour.
Ben was the only unsigned blues roots artist to ever play at the ‘Download’ festival at Donnington Park in June 2010 alongside artists including Aerosmith, AC/DC and Rage Against The Machine. Ben has in the past been lead guitarist for Dani Wilde leading him to work with legendary British blues producer Mike Vernon (Eric Clapton/Peter Green/Fleetwood Mac/John Mayall/Buddy Guy).Whilst with the Dani Wilde Band Ben travelled all over Europe and beyond supporting such notable performers such as John Mayall and played at major festivals such as the Maryport Blues festival in Cumbria and the Fricktaler Blues Festival in Switzerland.
