British Soldiers Provide Security

Hundreds of our brave service men and women have been wounded in battlefields across Iraq and Afghanistan. Up and down the country individuals and communities have got involved in supporting the Help for Heroes charity, doing everything from cake stalls to jumping out of planes to raise funds for our service men and women.

Help for Heroes is a civilian initiative intended to provide a focus for the goodwill that the British people feel for our Armed Forces. It is strictly non political, leaving the talking to the politicians while H4H gets on with raising funds to provide practical support for those wounded in the line of duty in the current conflicts.

Bluesinthenorthwest together with one of the regions blues bands is working on a project aimed at raising funds for ‘Help for Heroes’ through the artists, venues and fans of blues in this region.

The idea behind the project is to create a blues compilation CD from 12  bands/artists in the North West, then for the bands/artists to sell the CDs at gigs or through their other channels to raise funds for ‘Help For Heroes’. The CD will be created using one donated track from each band/artist. As well as delivering much needed funds to the charity, it will also raise the profile of blues, bands/artists and venues in the North West.

We already have 7 bands / artists lined up for the CD and we are now seeking a further another 4 to 6 to complete the CD.

If you would like to be considered for the project please forward your details to:
