Blues in Carlisle

Posted on: Tuesday, May 10, 2011

Here’s some news – Jon Amor is playing an acoustic gig at the Kings Head pub in Carlisle this Thursday (10th May) supported by 13 Stars.

The gig is one of a series of live music events that are being held in the popular real ale hostelry that lies behind the town hall.

There are a host of good artists appearing in the Beer garden from now until September including Eddie Martin on the 26th May, Ian Parker in June and Derrin Nauendorf in July.

So there you are. The garden only holds 40 – 50 people so get there early. 13 stars will start at 8.30 and Jon at 9.15. The first gig is free but the rest will incur a small charge.

Support live music and real ale!!

On the 28th of May there is an excellent gig at the Brickyard with 24 Pesos a band who have just won a nationwide contest to perform and headline the New Brunswick festival in Canada. They are supported by Marcus Bonfanti and Paddy Milner. 24 Pesos have received tremendous reviews for their performances and are appearing at the Carlisle and Maryport Blues festivals this year. Of course Marcus Bonfanti needs no introduction and continues to receive rave reviews for his guitar play. Marcus will be performing with Paddy Milner who of course is well famous for his work with a host of major artists. Check the Brickyard website for tickets.
