The Crown Inn, Senhouse Street, Maryport on Saturday May 21st
‘A man whose guitar playing leaves you gasping’ – Digital Blues
‘What a voice, what a guitar!’ – Blues Matters
The Roy Metté Band boasts an excellent reputation on the festival and club circuit in the UK and Europe, and they went down a storm at the Maryport Blues Festival in 2009 and 2010. Roy’s guitar influences go back to the heady power trio days of Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix and Cream, and Gallagher songs often feature in the live set. He has released eleven CDs to date, the latest a band album entitled ‘The Silver Bullet Kid’.
The three-piece line-up features Roy on guitar and vocals, Andy Bostock on bass and Wayne Bronze on drums. Andy has been
described by fellow musicians as a bassist with feel and style, while Wayne earned his stripes playing drums with bands like The
Hotrods and Otis Grand.
If you have seen them before, you’ll know the Roy Metté Band deliver no-nonsense, foot-stomping blues rock for the masses, with
superb guitar and vocals.
