BB’s Blues Club – Thursday 7 July – The Cottonhouse Shakers. £6

The Cottonhouse Shakers are a 6 piece group who are due to perform at Alexander’s fortnightly blues night in Chester on 7th July – £6 entry.

This experienced group of Lancashire-based musicians hail from different musical backgrounds but gel together perfectly to play the blues with elements of jazz/funk and a keen emphasis on groove. The group take a different approach to other blues bands providing an interesting twist on popular songs as well as blues standards.

The group are set to shake Alexander’s with their irresistible grooves… taking songs from different genres and giving them the ‘cottonhouse treatment’. Expect everything from Miles Davis to Hawkwind …all played via the blues! The group are currently busy performing at this summers’ festivals but will take time out to visit Alexander’s for ‘BB’s Blues Club’.

Gary Ward, the groups singer said “We are delighted to be performing at Alexanders in July. I’ve heard a lot of good things about this venue and we are looking forward to what should be a great night”.

Alexander’s favourites, Zoot Serious, are set to return to Abbey Green with their rampant rhythm ‘n blues set, packed
with soul.

Friday 15 July- Superbad £7

Alexander’s regulars, Superbad, take to the stage to delight audiences with their infectious grooves.
