Rev Doc and The Congregation

at Liverpool Marina

Thursday 6th October 2011 (doors: 8pm, show: 8.45pm)

Rev Doc and The Congregation last appeared at The Marina in October, 2007. They went down a bomb. They have only recently got back on the road again and we very much welcome their return to Liverpool.

The Doc is one of the genuine characters of the British Blues scene. He is a charismatic frontman, who delivers raw vocals and harp, wrapped in a web of enigmatic humour. He is backed by a superb band that features the superlative guitar playing of Al Brown and the rock solid rhythm section of Davy Boyle on drums and Alan Thompson on bass.

The band’s Chicago-style blues programme is a delight, combining well-loved standards with cleverly penned originals. Once seen, Rev Doc & The Congregation are an addictive force and never fail to satisfy the high expectations that they provoke.

Liverpool Marina is situated at Coburg Wharf, Sefton Street, Liverpool L3 4BP.

Tickets for the concert (£12 each in advance, £13 on the door) are obtainable from John Welsh on 0151-428 2855 or at www.johnnysbluesclub.co.uk.
