Chester has got the blues
Chester music lovers will be treated to some of the hottest Blues acts from across the globe at Alexander’s BB’s Blues Club this month.
Kicking off proceedings on Thursday 13 October will be Brummie born Ian Parker, an international songwriter whose songs are sometimes almost literary, an original craftsman.
Expressed through a distinctive bitter-sweet vocal delivery, Ian’s songs are filled with naked honesty and genuine emotion which sets him apart from his peers.
Ian has developed a distinctively expressive guitar style, which explains his ever-growing popularity in the blues world but at the heart of it roots music continues to form the foundation of his sound.
Joining Ian, direct from the US of A is singer songwriter Josh Harty. This Wisconsin based country and blues singer will be launching the first night of the UK leg of his first ever European tour. This is certainly a night not to be missed.
On Thursday 27 October, Alexander’s welcomes to the stage Smokin’ Matt Harrison, a powerful solo electric blues musician from the North East who is fast becoming a one of the must see blues guitarists in the UK. Joining Matt will be Lancashire’s Lucy Zirins, a young blues performer from Burnley with a growing international reputation.
On Thursday 10 November, BB’s Blues Club kicks into gear with The Bourbon Street Preachers for an up-tempo evening of storming R&B. The band comprises of some of the North West’s premier musicians who influences range from R&B to Cajun and Zydeco thrown in for good measure!
Mike Bowden, organiser of BB’s Blues Club, comments: “This month we welcome some global acts to the BB’s Blues Club stage. We hope the artists will inspire both regulars and those new to the UK blues scene.”
