Review: Crossfire – BJ’s at Hop Pocket, Chorley – 24 Nov 2011

24th November 2011.
BJ’s Blues Club.

This five piece blues band from the Northwest of England were spot on target and gave a professional performance throughout.
Steve Nunn the band’s front man: playing bass guitar and lead vocal,  took us through a blues journey mixing the blues greats with
sprinkles of their own material from their latest  C.D.   entitled  “Just The Trick”.

Dave Knight  and Brian Filson shared the lead guitar roll, this seems to be a trend now with blues bands and works very well,  back and forth with guitar licks and solo breaks,  just great.

Neil  Scallion on keys, harmonica and backing vocals was outstanding and gives the band an extra dimension.  Just  brilliant!

Chorley’s own Jon Lowe on the drums.  A steady display born to play the blues.  Fantastic!

This band does have a wealth of experience and talent, they gave the packed crowd a Blues Show and a half; the three encores that were demanded from the packed crowd gave testament to that fact.

Crossfire’s latest  C.D.  is still available from the bands web site,   I enjoyed it, and it is now in my blues collection,  one could say it was “JUST THE TRICK”
