Posted on: Monday, Feb 20, 2012

The JP Band play rhythm & blues, a combination of self-penned compositions along with selected interpretations from Ray Charles, Willie Dixon and Tom Waits. The origins of the music as a vehicle for a fun good time and a dance is paramount to The JP Band as they lay down a groove with a touch of funk and deliver lyrics that will bring a smile to the lips.

The JP Band are:

Andy Parker on vocals and tenor sax. He has spent many years performing, writing and recording music throughout the Uk and Europe including a long stint as lead vocalist in Supercharge where he shared the stage with amongst others BB King and Chuck Berry. He can be seen in situation – with hair –  doing his thing on several Youtube clips.

Paul PJ Williams on guitar and vocals, previous member of infamous blues rocker Badger Bell’s band, and a staple of the north west rock scene from an early age. Renowned guitar and equipment demonstrator for Farida, and Dawsons. Pj spends his time not teaching, inventing strange machines in deepest Wales.

Tony Dunmore on electric upright bass and vocals. Another Supercharger who can claim to have been on the bill supporting Queen in Hyde Park as well as touring with Wishbone Ash and recording 2 albums produced by Robert ‘Mutt’ – husband to Shania Twain – Lange.

Chris Wharton on drums and vocals. Formerly part of legendary North West blues band The Moochers is still first call to provide the beat behind any surviving Elvis in The Beale Street Band.
