Review: Slyder at BJ’s Club at The Hop Pocket, Chorley – 12th January 2012

Posted on: Monday, Feb 20, 2012

This four piece band from the Preston, Leyland area have been together since 2008 and took us on a musical journey spanning three decades of Blues,  R&B,  and Rock and Roll.
The band set the mood from the word go, with numbers from Cream, Spencer Davis Group, The Animals, Chuck Berry, Elvis and
many more.  A fantastic array of covers from these popular artists.
The packed faithful crowd of fans, were given a top show and were thoroughly entertained from this wealth of talented musicians.
On lead guitar and vocal was Paul Rivans a great guitarist and singer, on second guitar and lead vocal was “Stormin” Norman Roberts,
a great character and a good strong voice as his name suggests.
On bass guitar was Doug Dickson a great sound and a spot on delivery.  Rounding up the rhythm section Paul Fieldhouse on “skins”, a drummer who’s experience spans thirty years . He only recently joined the band in late December 2011.
The audience had a good time, the band had a good time what more is there to say.
