‘Goin’ Up The Country’ at Worthenbury Village Hall – 8 pm doors, for 9 pm start

Tickets: £14

From Pete Evans:

It isn’t often that we put on a gig so soon after our festival and in late July, but the opportunity to present Louisiana legend Lazy Lester was too good to miss.

One of the last of the old African/American blues men, he made his name on the wonderful Excello label producing some memorable tracks that ultimately became hits for many other musicians like “Sugar Coated Love”, “I’m a Lover Not a Fighter” and “I Hear You Knocking”.

Primarily a harp player, Lester also accompanies himself on guitar but on this night he will be backed by Tommy Allen on guitar and his usual array of drums and cymbals.
