Dave Arcari – live at Boxstock, Band on the Wall
HAVING spent the last six months playing festivals and venues across Europe, Scottish alt.blues musician Dave Arcari comes home to play the Boxstock Festival at Band on the Wall, Manchester on Saturday 8 September.
Arcari has been touring to promote his latest album – Nobody’s Fool – released on French label Dixiefrog Records in March. While on tour in Europe he managed to find time to record a new album at Sonic Pump, Helsinki with bass player Juuso Haapasalo and drummer Honey Aaltonen, collectively known as the Hellsinki Hellraisers. The album is scheduled for release (CD, vinyl and download) on Finnish label, Blue North, early next year (2013).
Arcari has shared the stage with major artists including country/Americana legend Steve Earle, the mighty Alabama 3, Seasick Steve, Toby Keith and veteran blues-rocker Robin Trower.
A regular at UK and European festivals, Arcari cites recent highlights as Glastonbury; Moulin Blues Festival in Holland; Belgium’s Peer Festival (alongside Jeff Beck, Joe Bonamassa and Steve Winwood); BluesAlive in the Czech Republic and Poland. Headline shows in Finland, Estonia, Germany and Ireland as well as across the UK continue to take Arcari and his music to a wider audience beyond the confines of any specific genre.
Showcased over seven CD releases to date, Dave Arcari’s National guitar-driven alt.blues owes as much to trash country, punk and rockabilly as it does pre-war Delta blues.
