Gig: Village Hall Music – Autumn Schedule

Posted on: Friday, Aug 31, 2012

The Appleton Thorn Village Hall group have announced their autumn lineup and it looks very good indeed.

CLIVE CARROLL
SATURDAY 29th SEPT

Clive has been a regular visitor in the past, but it has been a while since he last mesmerized the Village Hall audience with his frankly astonishing virtuosity on the guitar.
Clive plays blues, jazz, Celtic, classical or any other guitar style you care to name with an unnerving ease.
From a personal point of view, I feel he is one of the best musicians I have ever seen. Don’t just take my word for it, check his website or Youtube for examples.
It really is a privilege to see a world class musician in the intimate surroundings of the Village Hall.

MARTIN STEPHENSON
SATURDAY 13th OCT

Martin always includes a visit to the Village Hall in his Autumn itinerary and this year is no exception.  Martin’s reputation means that demand for tickets is always high, and he has always sold out at our venue.  He has completed a successful tour with the Daintees this year in addition to his numerous solo dates.  He never fails to entertain, and I can guarantee that this will be no exception.  Expect to hear his own material, blues, ragtime and other styles immaculately played in a unique style.

STEVE PHILLIPS & BRENDAN CROKER
SATURDAY 3rd NOVEMBER

The legendary Steve Phillips is an infrequent visitor to the Village Hall. On 3rd November he will be appearing alongside fellow guitarist and close friend Brendan Croker.  In the early 90’s they both lined up alongside Mark Knopfler, as members of the massively successful Notting Hillbillies.   As a solo performer, Steve’s blues guitar style is as good as it gets, and alongside Brendan, expect to be entertained by acoustic blues of the very highest standard.

As usual, tickets can be bought from either behind the Village Hall bar or direct from Roger Kenyonon 07946 378599.

Admittance will be by ticket only, with no sales on the door.  All events are priced at £10 with no reserved seats and doors at 8:00pm.
