Connie Lush & Blues Shouter
The 3rd Congleton Jazz and Blues Festival 2012 – Sunday, 26th August – The Snooty Fox
Performing at the Snooty Fox night club – a great venue for live music – the luscious Connie Lush and her band Blues Shouter set out their stall and gave an outstanding performance. Connie Lush, voted best UK female vocalist five times by the readers of Blues in Britain magazine, burst on to the stage and grabbed the audience from the word go.
Connie’s designer blues voice has been describe as a ‘3 am whisky’ it just goes down very smooth and a great aftertaste and that’s what she delivered. This amazing lady of the blues is not just a fantastic performer, she a writer of songs and her latest works on her CD entitled “Send Me No Flowers” is nothing less than sensational.
From her extensive repertoire of original works and covers Connie is at the top of her tree and tours not only in England but has had phenomenal success in France and Germany. This non-stop blistering show and her banter with the crowd just helped things flow along as she introduced one song after another, “Morning Blues”, “Hold On”, “Send Me No Flowers” – all penned by this fountain of talent.
If I had to invent a cocktail that describes this brilliant performer it would have to be in a very large glass indeed – delicious. The sensational Blues Shouter band are on bass guitar, Terry Harris; on lead and slide guitar, Peter Wade; and on the drums, Colin Lamont.
