Blue Cee album launch and return of Blues On The Rock

Fort Perch Rock, New Brighton, Wirral

Sunday, 25th November, 1pm-4pm

Two of Liverpool’s most enthusiastic blues ambassadors, Raphael Callaghan & Christine Purnell, re-open for one day only their much-missed Blues On The Rock blues club this Sunday afternoon, 25th November, at Fort Perch Rock in New Brighton, Wirral.

The occasion is the official launch of their new album, ‘Long Tall Sally EP plus . . .’, which is their bluesy take on the Beatles classic EP of the same name with the addition of two extra songs.

The slide guitar/bass guitar duo, who play under the name Raphael Callaghan’s Blue Cee, ran the monthly Blues On The Rock club at the fort for 18 months from July 2008. The club closed when the couple moved from their native Liverpool to live in North Wales.

They have been gigging along the North Wales coast and on Anglesey, but this will be their first gig on Merseyside since their move more than two years ago.

Blue Cee will be playing selections from their new EP, plus songs from their next full-length CD (due next year) and Raphael will be airing songs from a batch of new ones for a projected solo album.

There will be blues CDs to be won, and there’s a cafe/bottle bar. The £5 admission includes entry to the fort’s fascinating museum and artefacts.

The subterranean music room at the fort is one of the most atmospheric venues for live music in the North West. A grand afternoon out!
