Local musical talent has until 30th November to enter New Brunswick Battle of the Blues

The 2013 UK-wide search for Britain’s best unsigned and original blues talent is attracting some great entries and with a closing date of 30th November 2012, there’s just still time to enter. The ultimate prize will be an all-expenses paid trip to the Canadian province of New Brunswick for the winning band or solo act – to perform at the renowned Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival, but both the heats and the final would present a great opportunity for talented blues musicians. The North West heat will be held this year on 11th January at the True Blues Club, Newton-le-Willows.
New Brunswick Battle of the Blues invites unsigned bands or singer/songwriters producing some original work to enter the first stage of the competition until 30th November. Successful musicians will be selected to perform at one of five regional heats across the country early in the New Year. Winners of the regional heats, together with one further act, the ‘Judges’ Choice’, will then perform at the London final.
The New Brunswick Battle of the Blues, led by the Canadian province of New Brunswick, will fly the outright winning band or artist out to the Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival in the capital Fredericton in September 2013.
Says Lee George, the organiser of the competition: “This year’s winner is set to play several gigs at the Festival. They will also get the opportunity to sample the very best of the province, not just its fantastic musical heritage, but also the breath-taking scenery, the joys of whale-watching and New Brunswick’s fine cuisine.”
