Acoustic guitar duo ‘Wooden Horse’ play the ‘Courtyard Live’ session at Carlisle’s Kings Head on Thursday 25th July.

Playing a mixture of country roots, folk and blues the duo comprise singer Jamie Knight who plays acoustic guitar and stomp box and Ben Church who provides Weissenborn slide, banjo and 12 string.

The duo who hail from Worcester only got together in 2011 and have quickly built up a strong reputation. They released their debut album last year featuring their own self penned songs and a few covers from the likes of Ryan Adams, Bob Dylan, Old Crow Medicine Show and Vince Gill.

Their gigs feature an intricate instrumental interplay between the two artists with a slick and homely country feel to their superb vocal harmonies and playing. One their songs the powerful ‘Hell Ain’t Going Home’ was featured on Janice Long of BBC radio fame.

The gig starts at 8.00 and costs £4 in advance and £5 on the door.
