The Badgers are a blues rock trio who travelled from the Stockport area to entertain the faithful crowd here in Chorley. Phil Cawsey on lead vocal and bass guitar with Geoff Rees on lead guitar and backing vocals, and on the drums was Lester Cooper.

The band gave us a mix of blues / rock covers with some original works by Geoff Rees, who I might add is halfway through another album entitled “Freakshow” –  I can’t wait for that one to surface.

With vintage covers –  the likes of “Keep on Running”, “All or Nothing”, “I Can’t Explain”, “Pride & Joy”, “White Room” and two originals penned by Geoff – “Perfect Circumstance” and “Rich Man’s Gold” – the dye was cast and the dancers danced.

The second set grew with more golden covers –  “I Can See Clearly Now”, “In The Midnight Hour”, “Gimme Shelter”, and “Alright Now” – classic after classic, great. This band travels far and wide to bring you the best of the best from the golden era of blues and rock.
