The Paddy Maguire band on their debut travelled from Yorkshire to entertain and did that to a packed crowd.

It didn’t take long for the band and audience to find their groove – with Paddy front and centre on lead guitar and lead vocals along with a good solid rhythm section to back him up, with Craig Jackson on bass guitar and vocals; and Peter Tallent on the drums.

With plenty of vintage blues/rock covers with Paddy’s magic guitar playing it was an all-round blistering performance, just stupendous.

Female guest vocalist Jenna Hooson is a ‘powerhouse’ of a vocalist and gave a brilliant performance. Jenna has blasted her audiences away from an early age with her multi-faceted vocals bringing to the table a mix of blues, soul and rock. Jenna’s band Hooson disbanded in September 2012 after  three years of excellent reviews and a CD entitled “Sugar Rush” –  this was valuable experience to Jenna and has grown from strength to strength.

Jenna is enjoying her time with the band and is off to Holland and then America for a short tour. Paddy Maguire is a musician who has plenty of experience in the business and this May has organised the Hebden Bridge Blues festival.

To add to the party atmosphere the popular vocalist Tony Wardle from Alfie Ibbotson’s Popular Beat Combo – a Chorley /Preston based band – graced the stage with the band and Heidi Lucas, the wife of promoter Lucas Campbel,l had her up close and personal first guitar lesson at the hands of Paddy himself pulling the strings so to speak.

This brilliant band has it all professionalism, musicianship and a generous heart to give a show and a half, fantastic.
