Review: Cold Flame – BJs Rock In The Blues at The Hop Pocket, Chorley: Thursday, 8th May

Posted on: Wednesday, May 14, 2014

The band travelled from Derbyshire to entertain the faithful and entertain is what they did in spades. The band is celebrating 30 years in the business and the man who started it all is Pat Rowbottom – an exceptional entertainer musician and a gentleman.

Over the years musicians have come and gone it is the nature of the beast, but one thing has remains constant and that is the high level of music, musicianship and fantastic original works penned by Pat himself.

With a studio CD of the bands favourite covers entitled “Blue Shadows” out very soon the band continues to entertain nationwide. They played a selection of covers from Jethro Tull, Free, Bob Dylan, Tommy Tucker, Robert Johnson, The Kinks, Gary Moore and many more. This band has everything a complete package.

The band’s line up was, on bass guitar and vocals Pat Rowbottom, on drums Phil Marke, on lead guitar and vocal Rob Barnes, and special guest Gerald McDonald on saxophone. This is an exceptional band as time has witnessed – here’s to the next 30 years of great music, we live in hope. Thank you Cold Flame.
