Review: The Idle Hands – BJs Rock In The Blues at The Minstrel, Chorley: Thursday, 29th May

This band travelled from the Chesterfield area to bring you top entertainment in Chorley.

The band’s front man and lead vocalist/blues harpist, Phil Allen, has a voice that was sent from the gods and his delivery is second to none. On lead guitar we have Dave Robinson, a great musician, his skills abound and he plays from deep within his soul – just brilliant.

The rhythm section are the subtle power house of Jamie “The Sheriff” Burns on a bass guitar that would crack your ribs; with the steady steel hands of Paul Heydon on drums – they are a formidable twosome.

The band gave us a taste of their new album entitled “Feeding the Machine” which is to be released early June, and from their last album, “Ready for Business”, which did well for them. This band is going from strength to strength and plays with unreserved passion.

The Idle Hands are ready to breach new horizons in the music business; they certainly have the skills and determination to do all of that, and more.
