Another great blues club has had its plug pulled!

BJ’s ‘ROCK IN THE BLUES’ CLUB @ The Minstrel in Chorley, found out last night, that the venue can no longer support it. The devastated promoters, Lucas and Heidi Campbell are in shock, as are the ‘family’ of punters which regularly support BJ’s week after week.

The club has been in operation for 12 years or more and is one of the busiest in the NW, holding regular weekly gigs. It has hosted bands from as far afield as Portsmouth, Birmingham and the NE. The club had been fully booked well into 2016, with bands queuing up to play to the enthusiastic and supportive crowd at this popular venue. The philosophy of the club had always been FREE entry and this appears to be one of the issues.

So it is with great sadness to say that BJ’s is no more … but I’m sure that in the next few weeks there will be moves ahead to resurrect this great club at a new venue. Please remember that the clubs and pubs that support the bands are helping in ‘KEEPING LIVE MUSIC ALIVE’ and without the platform we are lost!
