The Appleby Beer and Blues Festival 2008.
The third annual Appleby Beer and Blues Festival takes its place in the UK music calendar over the weekend of Sept 19th to the 21st.
Offering three full days, 20 real ales and 11 real bands the event attracts music fans from all over the country, all appreciating good music and beer.
This years event kicks off at 730pm on Friday 19th in the Public Hall, Appleby in Westmorland with the Krissy Matthews Band and the Robin Bibi Band.
On Saturday the 20th there are two sessions, the afternoon at 130pm has The Melt and the John O’Leary Band and the evening sees Faraway Tree and The Oli Brown Band on stage.
The weekend is rounded off well, on Sunday 21st, with an acoustic afternoon featuring Lee Bates and Billy Newton, The Hokum Hotshots and the Last Gasp Spasm Band and an evening with The Nail Head Hitters and the Willie Logan Band.
Weekend tickets are available now at £35.00, until the 20th August, when they go up to £42.00, session tickets are £10.00 each ( Sunday afternoon is £7.00 ) and they can be obtained from the New Inn on 01768 351317 or the Tourist Information office on 01768 351177, who can also advise on good local accommodation and camp sites in the area.
There is free entry to the beer festival, which is in a separate room to the music, and a quiet room for those who need a break.
