Thursday 14th January at BJ’s  Blues Club,

The Hop Pocket, Carr lane, Chorley  www.hoppocket.co.uk

PAPA LEGBA

First Time at BJ’s for this young Blues Rock Power Trio from Merseyside who have built up a tremendous reputation for themselves in such a short space of time. They draw heavily from the past masters namely Skip James, Howling Wolf and Vintage Blues Rock outfits from the 60’s & 70’s such as Cream & Hendrix. Their set is interspersed with some contemporary selections and their own material which bodes well for a great night of entertainment courtesy of Papa Legba !

Papa Legba line up as follows:-

  • Alan Kitwana Crawford – Lead Guitar/Vocals
  • Scott Crawford – Bass guitar/Backing Vocals
  • Graham Brighouse – Drums

Lancaster based 5 piece Rockin’ Blues Outfit The Section are one of the hardest working bands in the Northwest and have ‘trod the boards’ for over 25 years, a great testament to their popularity and staying power ! Mick Taylor who has one of the most powerful voices in the business and tells me the set will contain material by Rory Gallagher and one or two surprises as well. The addition of Keyboards has expanded The Section’s sound and musical repertoire….another great night awaits us. Gig: The Boozie Woozie Band – BJ’s at The Hop Pocket – 24 Sept

Thursday 25th September at BJ’s  Blues Club,

The Hop Pocket, Carr lane, Chorley  www.hoppocket.co.uk

The Boozie Woozie Band

And now for something completely different!

The Boozie Woozies are a ‘splinter band’ from The Winchesters fronted by the irrepressible Andy Stones on Keyboards. The name of this band really gives you more than just a clue, yes it’s fun & musical frolics all the way. The big question is will The Yellin’ Yeti do a 20 minute drum solo and  donate the remains of his kit to The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at the end of the gig?

Gig: Fuschi3 at BJ’s Blues Club

Thursday 23rd July -  at BJ’s  Blues Club,

the Hop Pocket, Carr lane, Chorley  www.hoppocket.co.uk

FUSCHI 3

The much awaited return of this Power Blues Funk Trio.

They already have a great local following and always go down a storm at BJ’s.

In speaking with ‘ace skin man’ Rick Hughes he tells me the band have gone from strength to strength after ‘cutting their teeth’ on the North West circuit over the last year.  “Just recently all the hard work has started to pay off” with a headline slot confirmed at the prestigious Colne Festival!

Their material is a heady euphoric musical coctail of ‘covers’ and original songs, their enthusiasm is infectuous, the musicianship is pure class with a hint of humour, once seen never forgotton!

Check them out live at BJ’s !!

Fuschi 3 are-:

Francesco “Paulo” Fuschi – Guitar & Vocals

David Lloyd – Bass

Rick Hughes – Drums
